What House Cleaning Actually Costs in Columbus
Almost nobody in this city will give you a price before someone has walked through your house. That is a sales tactic, not a pricing problem. Here is the whole thing, in public.

The short answer
A standard clean for a three-bedroom, two-bath home in the Columbus metro is $199. A deep clean of the same house is $329. A one-bedroom is $129 standard. An apartment or condo under roughly 1,200 square feet starts at $109.
Those are our prices, and they are the only prices we have. The figures in this article are generated from the same rate card the pricing page prints and the same engine the quote form runs, so none of them is an estimate and none of them can quietly fall out of date.
If you would rather have your own number than ours, the quote form takes about a minute and does not ask for your phone number until the end.
What the rest of the Columbus market charges
We read competitor pricing pages and listing aggregators across the metro in August 2026 before setting our own rates. This is a snapshot of what was published that week, not a survey and not a study. Prices move, and by the time you read this some of these will have.
| What we looked at | Columbus price |
|---|---|
| Typical metro listing average | $168–$211 a visit |
| Full spread across listings | $104–$350 a visit |
| National brands’ own guidance for a reputable service | $150–$300 a visit |
| Agency hourly rate, per cleaner | $50–$75 an hour |
| Independent cleaners advertising directly | from $20.30 an hour |
Two things stand out in that table.
The first is the width of it. A Columbus homeowner asking “what does this cost” is being quoted anywhere from $104–$350 for jobs that are broadly the same size, which is why the question feels unanswerable. Most of that spread is not quality. It is whether the number includes supplies, whether it is per cleaner or per visit, and whether it is a real price or an opening one.
The second is the hourly line. An agency quoting $50–$75 an hour per cleaner is quoting a number you cannot use, because you do not know how many hours they will take or how many people they will send. That is the point of an hourly quote. A flat price per visit puts the risk of a slow day on us instead of on you.
What we charge, in full
| Service | 1 bed | 2 bed | 3 bed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard clean | $129 | $159 | $199 |
| Deep clean | $229 | $279 | $329 |
| Move-in / move-out | $249 | $299 | $359 |
| Apartment or condo | $109 | $139 | — |
Per visit, one time, supplies and equipment included. Each column assumes one full bathroom in a one-bedroom and two in anything larger. The full rate card runs further than this — it prices every home size our calculator will price, and prints what each extra room adds.
One Columbus company publishes a complete price matrix the way we do. In August 2026, for the same three-bedroom, two-bath house, it read like this next to ours.
| Three bed, two bath | Published elsewhere | Wren |
|---|---|---|
| Standard clean | $250 | $199 |
| Deep clean | $420 | $329 |
| Move-in / move-out | $460 | $359 |
We are not going to pretend that gap is generosity. We are a new company with two people in it and no franchise fee to pay, and we would rather win the comparison than win the margin.
What actually moves the price
Four things, and you already know all four.
Bedrooms. Past three, each additional bedroom adds $40 to a standard clean and $55 to a deep one.
Full bathrooms. Each full bathroom beyond what the bedroom count assumes adds $20 standard, $30 deep. Half baths are cleaned at no charge, which matters more than it sounds in Hilliard, where the standard subdivision house is three bedrooms and two and a half baths.
Rooms that are not on the deed. A finished third floor in Bexley, a loft over the stairs in Lewis Center, a bonus room over the garage in Pickerington, the lower level of a Gahanna split-level. All of those are floor space someone has to carry a vacuum into, so all of them count. Tell us about them on the form and your first number is your real number.
Which clean you are buying. A deep clean is $130 more than a standard one on a three-bedroom, and it takes roughly twice as long.
What a schedule does to the number
Book on a cadence and the visit price comes down: 20% off weekly, 15% off every two weeks, 10% off monthly. The discount comes off the clean itself, not off add-ons.
Here is the same three-bedroom house on each schedule.
| How often | Per visit | Visits a year | Over a year |
|---|---|---|---|
| One time | $199 | 1 | — |
| Monthly | $179 | 12 | $2,148 |
| Every two weeks | $169 | 26 | $4,394 |
| Weekly | $159 | 52 | $8,268 |
Weekly has the lowest price per visit and the highest cost per year, because you are buying 52 of them. That is not a trick, but it is the line most people do the arithmetic on afterwards rather than before, so we would rather print it.
Every two weeks is what most Columbus households actually settle on. It stays ahead of a normal house without paying for a visit nobody needed. There is no contract behind any of these — skip a week, change your cadence, or stop, and there is nothing to cancel and no fee for doing it. That is what recurring cleaning means here.
Add-ons, and why they are add-ons
Inside the fridge $35. Inside the oven $35. Interior windows $6 each. Laundry $25 per load.
These sit outside the base price because they are jobs, not surfaces. An oven is forty minutes on its own. Including it in every price would mean charging every customer for it, including the ones who clean their own oven twice a year and would rather not pay for it twenty-six times.
The exception is a move-in or move-out clean, where the fridge and the oven are included at no extra cost. An empty house with a dirty oven is not an empty house anybody wants the keys to.
What “from” is supposed to mean
Most of this industry uses “from” to mean “the lowest number we could legally print”. We hold ourselves to a narrower version: a “from” price has to be genuinely achievable for the smallest home in its tier, and if your home is bigger than that, you find out before we start rather than after.
A price that moves after you have committed is not a price. It is a deposit on a negotiation.
If something about your home turns out to be different from what the form said — the third floor nobody mentioned, four full bathrooms instead of two — we tell you the new number and you decide, before anyone starts working. It has never been reasonable to discover a price at the end of a job.
Does your suburb change what you pay
No, but it changes what your house is likely to be, and that is what people are really asking.
A two-bedroom bungalow in Grandview Heights is $159, and it is the same $159 in Colonial Hills over in Worthington. Most of Dublin and nearly all of New Albany sits past the top of the published card, because four, five and six-bedroom homes are the norm there rather than the exception, and those get quoted individually so the number is actually right.
We publish a page for each of the sixteen suburbs we clean with what the housing stock there is actually like, because “three bedrooms” in Old Arlington and “three bedrooms” in Hilliard are not the same amount of work — even though they are the same price.
How to get your own number
Use the quote form. Bedrooms, bathrooms, which clean, how often. The price appears on the screen before we ask who you are, and it is the same figure a person would have given you a day and a half later.
If you are not sure whether you want a standard clean or a deep one, read the difference between them first. It is the single most expensive decision on the form, and the honest answer is that a lot of homes do not need the deep one.
